Towngate Fisheries shortlisted for second National Fish & Chip Award

14 November 2017

Towngate Fisheries is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘NFFF Quality Award ‘Champion Award’’ category of the 2018 National Fish & Chip Awards. Earlier in the month we were also shortlisted in the ‘From Field To Frier Award’ category.

Now in their 30th anniversary year, the National Fish & Chip Awards recognise and reward businesses producing the best fish and chips across the UK. Their aim is to raise quality standards and provide a benchmark for businesses to aspire to.

The NFFF Quality Award ‘Champion’ Award was created as an extension to the National Federation of Fish Friers quality accreditation scheme – a rigorous industry benchmark. Only businesses already holding a NFFF Quality Award can enter this category. The ultimate ‘champion’ of this prestigious accreditation programme will be announced at the 30th anniversary awards ceremony in London on 25th January 2018.

Towngate Fisheries have continuously help the NFFF Fish and Chip Quality Award for 12 years and are the only shop in West Yorkshire to have held it for so long.

The award recognises:

  • The UK’s best quality and best tasting fish and chips
  • Sustainably sourced fish
  • Fresh produce, prepared safely
  • Clean, safe and hygienic premises
  • Well trained staff
  • Great service
