Towngate Fisheries win

15 March 2014

Idle’s own Towngate Fisheries has been awarded a Good Food Award recognising its efforts to offer healthier menu choices to its customers.

The Good Food Awards were set up in 2013 by West Yorkshire Trading Standards and Bradford Council. They recognise efforts by fast food outlet in the Bradford district to reduce saturated fats and sugars in food served, which goes towards reducing the high levels of obesity in Bradford as well as the risk of strokes. It also helps boost heart health in the city.

The Award was present to Mark and the team on Thursday by Bradford MP David Ward. Mr Ward said, “One in every six meals across the district is bought from a fast food outlet and Towngate Fisheries is a great example of how a business can produce healthier options without compromising on taste.”
