NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Award Finalists
15 February 2016
In January Towngate Fisheries’ owner Mark Drummond travelled to London for a glittering awards ceremony at The Lancaster London Hotel. Along with two other fish and chip shops Towngate Fisheries had been named as a finalist in the NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Award 'Champion' Award in the 2016 National Fish & Chip Awards.
To find the winner all the finalists were appraised across a variety of criteria, including how we maximised opportunities to promote the Quality Award to customers, how we actively promote the benefits to the wider fish and chip industry, how we measure increased benefits and the future plans we have to promote the award.
Towngate Fisheries have continually held the NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Award for 10 years and are the only shop in West Yorkshire to have achieved this. The NFFF scheme is designed to acknowledge those who continue to raise the standards of the nation’s fish and chips, rewarding shops that achieve the perfect balance between good quality products, clean hygienic premises, outstanding shop appearance and highly trained staff.
Sadly we were not successful this time. Although disappointed not to win we are still very proud to have been placed in the top three in the country for this prestigious award.
