Nutrition and health

Our fish and chips are 100% natural with no artificial colouring and no preservatives added. They contain less fat and fewer calories than most other takeaway foods, plus they are a valuable source of high quality protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, iron, calcium and dietary fibre.

We offer a choice or portion sizes, including smaller portions on our Lighter Options and Kids' Bite Menu

Fish is an excellent source of Omega-3, a very important fatty acid that our bodies can’t produce on their own. It also contains vitamins B6 and B12 and is high in low-fat protein. The government recommends we eat at least two portions of seafood a week.

For more information about the health benefits visit the Seafish website. You can also download a Seafish information booklet (PDF).

Potatoes are high in fibre and are a good source of vitamin C. They are also a good source of potassium which helps the nervous system function. Mushy peas are a good source of fibre and contain less than 1% fat – they also count as one of your 5-a-day!

To help our customers make an informed choice most of the meals we sell have been professionally analysed for nutritional content. You can view the calorie content for our meals on our menu page and the full nutritional data for all our meals below.

Poached Haddock

As a great alternative to our traditional battered haddock, we also offer poached haddock. Without any batter it is ideal for anyone with a wheat allergy. It is the same price as our fried battered haddock and is prepared to order in just a few minutes.
