Supporting our Community

Towngate Fisheries is proud to serve the vibrant community of Idle and it's surrounding areas. We do our very best to support local community groups, sports teams and fundraising events. We also fundraise directly for a number of local and national charities that are close to our hearts.

Sponsorship

Towngate Fisheries sponsors Idle FCWe sponsor many local sports teams including Thackley FC, Idle FC (Seniors and Juniors), Thackley Cricket Club (Seniors and Juniors), Idle Bowling Club and Hepworth & Idle Cricket Club amongst others.

We have made numerous donations to local community groups and regularly supply prizes for local fundraising events.

Charities

Albert, the Fishermen’s Mission Collection TinOur principle chosen charity is The Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen (Fishermen’s Mission) who help provide emergency and welfare support to Britain’s fishermen and their families. Since 2010, we have raised over £14,500 through a combination of events, such as ‘National Fish & Chip Day’, and our collection tin ‘Albert’ who always sits on our counter.

Christmas fundraising campaigns have raised money for the homeless charity Shelter and Centerpoint Bradford, a charity that helps young homeless people in our city.
