Top marks again in food hygiene rating scheme

Following a recent inspection, we’re really pleased to announce that we have again been awarded 5 out of 5 in the new Food Standards Agency (FSA) food hygiene rating scheme.

5 Star Food Hygiene Rating at Towngate FisheriesWe have held this highest "5 Star" rating ever since the scheme began

During the inspection the food safety officer looked at:

  • how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
  • the condition of the structure of the building – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities
  • how Towngate manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe

So when you visit Towngate Fisheries you can always be confident that you are buying top quality fish and chips from a top quality establishment.
